A Renovation Rooted in Purpose: Still BrightHouse, Just Brighter

In February 2024, we began a thoughtful renovation of our BrightHouse office at Ponce City Market. The effort was sparked by an opportunity to reinvest in our space after renewing our lease and receiving a rent abatement. Rather than treat it as a financial offset, our leadership team leaned into something more meaningful. We reimagined the office to better support the way we work now. Hybrid schedules, Zoom meetings, quiet focus time, and spontaneous collaboration moments all played a role. We needed a space that felt as intentional and flexible as the Thinkers who bring it to life. With guidance and approval from Ashley Grice, Cathy Carlisi, Cristina Lilly, and Mike Lear, the vision came to life.

Creating Spaces that Reflect How We Work

One of the most meaningful changes was transforming the “Fishbowl.” Originally intended as a creative zone, it had become one of the least used areas in the office. During the renovation, it was reimagined as North Star, a centrally located conference room named by popular vote. Alongside it are four new private Zoom rooms, two on each side, that support quiet work and virtual meetings. We also transformed small, underused meeting areas near the IT office into three additional private focus rooms based on feedback from a staff survey. The Kennedy Room, once a general working space, was upgraded into a full conference room with new AV and furniture. Several high-traffic areas also received fresh paint and touch-ups, with details inspired by our refreshed brand palette.

Little Moments of Culture and Comfort

The project also gave us the chance to rethink how we move and pause throughout the day. One addition is a quiet café space, designed for Thinkers to grab a cup of coffee or take a midday reset. With soft lighting, new tables, and comfortable seating, it’s become a favorite spot for both focus and conversation. Another popular addition is the bar seating along the windows. It offers a peaceful view, natural sunlight, and a chance to get work done away from your usual seat. Throughout the process, we made sure to preserve the elements of our culture that mean the most. Our iconic ping pong table found a new home, and the swings are still right where they belong.

A Team Effort from Vision to Reality

This renovation was a true team effort. BCG’s Archie Roy led globally, with support from our external partners at Nelson Worldwide, Corporate Environments, Humphries and Company, and Turton Bond. Internally, operations were led by Ricky Philatre, with Vennise Lundy supporting from Finance, Courtney Maldonado shaping the Office Experience, and Jose Santiago overseeing Office and IT Operations. The creative lift was brought to life by Paa Coss, Catalina Lotero, and Chandler Webb, who guided the visual direction, color palette, finishes, and furnishings. Their work was the heartbeat of the project, blending modern updates with our deeply held sense of identity.

The end result is a refreshed BCG BrightHouse. A space that feels both new and familiar, and one that reflects the way we think, work and grow together.
