This past April we hosted our first Climate Month at BCG BrightHouse. While climate, sustainability, and environmental issues are topics we consider daily, we aim to continue to push our thinking in this space and embed sustainability into our everyday work, both in the ways we operate internally as well as in our partnerships with clients. In pursuit of this continual goal, we marked April as dedicated time to make climate a stated learning priority and delve deep into the topic with our thinkers.

Our climate Month featured a series of interactive events with experts from across BrightHouse and BCG. Ranging from educational to peer-driven, these events explored climate and sustainability from multiple angles.

BCG x Quantis Discussion Panel
In our global flagship event, Matt Westerlund (MDP, BCG) and Allon Zeitoun (CEO Quantis) shared concrete ways that we as BrightHouse are uniquely positioned to make a difference in climate through our work at BCG and beyond.

Cultural Transformation Workshop
MDs Andra London and Tim Kuhrcke shared their experiences integrating climate and sustainability into our cultural transformation offerings. They also led an ideation session on how we can further embed climate considerations into our cultural transformation offering moving forward.

Strategic Storytelling & Branding Workshop
MDs Maggie Schear and Paul Pierson shared their project experiences with climate storytelling and branding, focusing on how we’re helping clients tell their sustainability stories. They highlighted ways we canb continue to support our clients who are bringing sustainability to their branding in a complex and ever-changing stakeholder landscape.

Green IT Workshop
Our very own IT Director, Jose Santiago, shared valuable tips and tricks on reducing our digital footprint by effectively leveraging our digital assets and being mindful of our digital behaviors.

Book Discussion: Braiding Sweetgrass
Senior Strategist Julian Lopez-Hanson brought the climate discussion to our monthly luminary book club discussion with Robin wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teaching of Plants.

One House: Making a Difference this Climate Month
Our classic One House calls are unique gatherings of global BrightHouse Thinkers, designed to discuss pertinent issues on a deeply personal level. Senior Strategist Ale Romero facilitated a deep dive into the impacts of climate change on our personal lives during a dedicated One House session. By sharing our individual experiences with climate change and exploring meaningful ways to contribute to climate action, this One House became a time of profound reflection and a reminder to push ourselves to do more.

In addition to our global events, our regional offices hosted several local events including in-person Climate Fresks, a workshop on how to reduce your individual carbon footprint, and a sustainable happy hour with climate trivia.

Climate can be a daunting topic. At BrightHouse, we have found it can be very meaningful to approach this topic openly, from a place of insight, and through a lens of solvability. Celebrations like Climate Month are one of the ways we are doing this. If you would like to learn more about our Climate Month or plan something similar for your company, please reach out!
