The Home of Purpose has been hard at work this year opening a second home in Berlin. This is our first international office and we’re so excited to (officially) announce that the décor is hung, the team is trained, the balloons are attached, and it’s ready to take off! So what, exactly, have we been up to?
In April, four of us flew to Berlin with all the belongings we could carry to join our fearless leader Brad White and a singular German colleague (Hi, Hans), to set about “opening an office.” It has involved cardboard box desks and conferences huddled around cellphones, taking up biking and hunting down biergartens, learning a lot about firm development and a little bit of Deutsch. Since that first “all-staff” meeting of six in April, we’ve more than doubled our family of brilliant minds and hearts here, and the common language in the office has gradually shifted from English to German. I no longer know if my colleagues are talking about me, and I never thought that would make me so happy.
If you’re interested in becoming a part of our house in Berlin, check out our careers page. We’re hiring for a number of different positions and growing fast, so check back often! Even if you don’t see the position you’re interested in listed, feel free to email us your resume. English is required and German is preferred.
We’ll be celebrating our Berlin office all month with videos, learning some German, and introducing our staff so stay tuned for more German news and fun. Liebe und Licht!
