To celebrate the end of the year, the Asian Diversity Network hosted a heartfelt event for the entire house, featuring a special screening of The Art of Healing: a 20-minute documentary created by BCG BrightHouse Production. The film highlighted the awe-inspiring, seven-day creation of a Medicine Buddha mandala by the monks of Mystical Arts of Tibet, exploring the transformative power of art, wisdom, and compassion. Rooted in Buddhist teachings, it explores themes of non-attachment, impermanence, and community. Offering a meditative journey that transcends cultural boundaries and inspires deeper connections.
The soundtrack features the moving piece “World Peace Prayer,” performed by the Drepung Loseling Monks. The film was brought to life under the direction of filmmaker David Bunzey, and group creative director Paa Coss.
The event was further enriched with a soothing sound bath, two-minute intention-setting, a five-minute savasana meditation, and delightful chai with biscuits enjoyed during the film. A catered lunch brought everyone together, fostering community and reflection. To extend the celebration, every ADN member received an AMC gift card to enjoy a movie outing with family.
Intention Setting by Adil Hussain
It’s December.
The sunset of another year.
D’you see all the colors in front of you?
The pink lemonade sky painted across wispy whites and fading blues.
The holidays waiting patiently for you to finish working out how
the richness of your life can fit into the cells of a spreadsheet.
Are you thinking about next year?
Or replaying moments from this one
or both
and more
and there’s chai and biscuits
and a good number of us sitting here
and even more e-mails sitting unanswered—
can you grab a small snack, nod a warm hello,
step out to send a quick message
care for the conflicts keeping you from the weekend—
Stop.
Breathe.
Time will always try to take you.
Don’t let it.
Breathe.
All we have is the now.
All we can keep is what’s here.
